Why Is the Generated Wallet Address Different from the Previous Address When I Import Mnemonic Phrases？

If the wallet address generated by importing the mnemonic phrases is a new wallet address that does not match your expected one, there are two possible reasons. We recommend that you check them out one by one.

Reason 1: The backup mnemonic phrase does not match the wallet address.

Huobi Wallet manages multiple wallet addresses. Let’s suppose you have two wallet addresses, A and B. In the backup, you map the mnemonic phrases for the A wallet to the address for the B wallet by mistake. When you want to import the B wallet, you import the mnemonic phrases for the A wallet, so the address is for the A wallet and is not the address for B wallet that you wanted to import.

Tip: You can avoid this kind of problem by backing up your mnemonic phrases as well as its corresponding wallet address.

Reason 2: You wrote down the wrong mnemonic phrase.

Another possibility is that the mnemonic phrase you accidentally wrote down the wrong mnemonic phrases or wrote them in the wrong order.
